These terms apply when you book Paul The Plasterer for plastering, rendering, EWI, or underfloor heating work. They sit alongside the specific quote we send you for your job — if anything in the quote contradicts what's here, the quote wins.

Quotes

Quotes are provided free, with no obligation. A quote is valid for 30 days from the date issued. After 30 days, material costs may have changed and we may need to re-quote.

A quote is an estimate based on what we can see during our site visit. If we uncover hidden issues during the work (e.g. damp behind plaster, structural problems, asbestos) we will stop work, tell you, and agree any variation in writing before continuing.

Booking and deposits

We confirm bookings in writing (email or text). For jobs over £1,000, we ask for a 25% deposit to cover materials. The balance is due on completion. For smaller jobs, payment is on completion only.

Payment methods: bank transfer, cash, or card on completion. We do not currently offer finance.

Cancellation

You can cancel a confirmed booking up to 7 days before the start date for a full refund of any deposit. Within 7 days, the deposit covers materials we will have ordered for your job and is non-refundable.

If we need to cancel or postpone (illness, weather affecting external work, etc.) we'll give you as much notice as we can and any deposit is fully refundable.

Warranty

Our work is guaranteed for 12 months from completion against defects in workmanship. Materials are covered by the manufacturer's warranty (typically 10–25 years for render systems and EWI).

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by pressure-washing, harsh chemicals, or impact
  • Movement cracks in walls outside our control (e.g. subsidence)
  • Damp caused by external factors (leaking gutters, blocked airbricks, etc.)
  • Normal wear and weathering

Access and safety

Please clear the work area before we arrive. We bring our own dust sheets and protect surfaces, but valuables and fragile items should be moved or covered by you in advance.

For external work, we may need access to neighbouring property for scaffolding. We'll discuss this with you in advance, and it's your responsibility to obtain neighbour consent where needed.

Insurance

We carry public liability insurance of £2 million. Proof of cover is available on request.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with anything, please tell us first — we'd rather fix it than have you live with it. Email info@paultheplasterer.co.uk or call 07771 625854. We aim to respond within 48 hours.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
